As part of the Centennial Celebration of Aton Forest, The Norfolk Hub will host Aton Forest Science Lecture III: “The Leafminers of Aton Forest,” presented by Aton Forest Research Fellow Charley Eiseman and co-sponsored by the Aton Forest Fellowship Trust, the Colebrook Conservation Commission, and the Norfolk Conservation Commission.
Leaf-miners are the larvae of certain moths, flies, and beetles that feed between the epidermal layers of leaves. These insects leave diverse and often intriguing signs, known as “leaf-mines,” on their host plants.
Naturalist Charley Eiseman is the lead author of Tracks & Sign of Insects and Other Invertebrates, author of Leafminers of North America, and BugTracks blogger.
